Services for Business Central SaaS

Custom extensions, integrations with the rest of your systems, and support after launch. Every project ends with you owning the source code.

Custom AL extensions

Change what Business Central does without touching Microsoft's base code.

Business Central SaaS is customized through extensions written in AL, Microsoft's language for BC. Extensions sit on top of the standard system, so Microsoft's monthly updates keep working and your changes keep working with them.

What we build

  • New fields, pages and FactBoxes
  • Validation rules and approval steps
  • Reports and document layouts
  • Job queue automations
  • Custom API pages for other systems

What you get

  • A tested extension installed in your tenant
  • The full AL source code
  • Notes on what changed and why
  • Testing in a sandbox before production

Integrations

Get data in and out of Business Central automatically.

We connect Business Central to your Linux servers, databases, websites and other applications with Python services built on FastAPI. They use Business Central's official APIs and sign in through Microsoft Entra ID, so there are no shared passwords and nothing to scrape.

Common projects

  • Sync orders from a website or portal into BC
  • Push inventory and prices out to other apps
  • Nightly exports to a database or reporting tool
  • Trigger actions in other systems when BC data changes

How it's built

  • Runs on your server or a small cloud VM
  • API keys and secrets kept out of the code
  • Logs every request, retries on failure
  • Alerts you when something needs attention

Our open-source apps, set up and hosted

Use our free Business Central apps without doing the setup yourself.

Every app on our open-source page is free to install. When you'd rather have it done for you, we install it in your sandbox, configure it with your team, and move it to production once you've tested it.

Setup

  • Installed and configured in your sandbox first
  • Permission sets assigned and your team shown how to use it
  • Adapted to your process if it needs a change
  • A fixed price agreed before we start

Hosted Card Statement OCR

  • We run the OCR and receipts portal server for you
  • A separate server for each customer, kept up to date and monitored
  • Statements and receipts are removed from the server once they're posted to Business Central
  • Parsers for additional card issuers on request

Support and changes

Your business changes. Your extensions and integrations can change with it.

After launch we can monitor your integrations, check extensions against upcoming Business Central releases, and make small changes as your process evolves. Support is optional: because you have the code, you're never locked in.

Common questions

Will my customizations break when Microsoft updates Business Central?

Extensions are designed to survive updates because they never change Microsoft's base code. We build against Microsoft's supported events and APIs and test against preview releases when a change could affect you.

Do I own the code?

Yes. You get the full source for anything built for you. General-purpose tools we publish on GitHub stay open source; anything specific to your business stays private to you.

What access do you need to our Business Central?

We start in a sandbox environment. For integrations we register an app in your Microsoft Entra ID with only the permissions it needs, which you can review and revoke at any time.

We use Business Central on-premises. Can you help?

Our focus is Business Central SaaS, but much of the AL and integration work applies on-premises too. Ask us about your setup.

Can I use your open-source apps without hiring you?

Yes. Every app is MIT-licensed: download the release from GitHub, upload it on Extension Management and assign its permission set. The README in each repository walks through setup. We're here if you want help.

Where does Card Statement OCR keep our statements and receipts?

If you self-host the server, on your own machine. If we host it, on a server dedicated to your company, and statements and receipts are removed from it once they're posted into Business Central, which stays your record.

How much does a project cost?

It depends on scope. After the free discovery call you'll get a fixed price for the work we discussed, so there are no open-ended hourly bills.
